Mission Statement
Our mission is to minimize personal community risk from fires, medical emergencies and other threats to life and property through prompt emergency response, public education and code enforcement.
In our performance, we will utilize all available resources, placing the highest priority on the preservation of life and health, followed by the protection of property and incident management.
Department Information
The Wilbraham Fire Department Headquarters Station is located at 2770 Boston Road (Route 20) at the Northern end of Wilbraham. The Town of Wilbraham borders the City of Springfield, the Town of Ludlow, the Town of Palmer, the Town of Monson, The Town of Hampden and the Town of East Longmeadow. Wilbraham is approximately 80 miles west of Boston.
The Wilbraham Fire Department is a full-time department consisting of the Fire Chief, 1 Deputy Fire Chief, 1 Captain of Fire Inspection/Prevention, 4 shift captains and 22 Firefighter/Paramedics.
Fire and EMS personnel operate out of two stations: 2770 Boston Road (Headquarters), and Woodland Dell (Station 2). Both stations are staffed 24/7. The Fire Prevention Officer conducts safety inspections of homes, fuel storage tanks and special events. The grant-funded S.A.F.E. program offers public education promoting fire prevention and safety.
