Description
The Board of Selectmen is established under the Wilbraham By-Laws to serve as the Board of Health and serves as the local Public Health Authority. In November, 2021, the Board of Health joined with the towns of Hampden, Longmeadow and Monson to form the Eastern Hampden Shared Public Health Services group (EHSPHS). These towns now share public health services. This includes services provided by a Health Director, Health Inspector, Public Health Nurse, and Health Coordinator. Public Health is the science and practice of protecting and improving the health of a community through preventive medicine, health education, control of communicable diseases, application of sanitary measures and monitoring of environmental hazards. This includes a wide range of functions and areas, ranging from septic system issues, COVID and influenza vaccinations, rabid animals, environmental contaminants, mosquito control, and tobacco control. These functions are carried out by various departments and individuals:

- Health Director, EHSPHS
