The Wilbraham 250th Anniversary Committee, Inc. has created a lasting Town legacy with remainder funds from activities conducted during the Town’s 250th year-long Anniversary events in 2013. Seven (7) commemorative benches are being installed at five Town locations as a thoughtful expression from the Anniversary Committee to give back to the community they celebrated and as a means to provide comfort at rest stops around town.
Each bench commemorates the Town’s 250th anniversary with the 250th logo and a plaque which designates the bench as a gift of the Wilbraham 250th Anniversary Committee, Inc. Benches are located at the Wilbraham Public Library, Wilbraham United Church, Gazebo Park at the center of town, across the street from Miles Morgan, and at John Sevey Park at Bruuer Pond.
The Wilbraham 250th Anniversary Committee also purchased and gifted the Town of Wilbraham with two large ornate planters to be placed at the entrance to Bruuer Pond in support of the restoration work accomplished there by the Town’s Department of Public Works, under the dedicated fundraising efforts and civil engineering direction of Assistant Town Engineer, Tonya Basch, P.E.
